He will take a seat at the table of a modern-day female scholar who has summoned him for a heart-to-heart... With a sizzling score of jazz, blues, and gospel, this imagined tet-a-tet is overthrown by the realities of his first marriage when his wife Anna bursts upon the scene. Bookended by two women, Frederick Douglass, the great romantic, has to navigate "freedom" as never before.
