John is celebrating the release of his new album “Herring Cove” on Dot_Time records (release date June 5 2020), with executive producer jazz legend Dave Liebman, and original song by music industry legend David Shire.
This is Minnock’s third release as a leader, and debut recording for the GRAMMY nominated Dot Time Records. The album pairs Minnock’s signature tell-it-like-it is wit with introspective lyrics to paint a dynamic and compelling portrait of contemporary gay life. For this monumental recording, Minnock brings together two indisputable musical masters: NEA Jazz Master saxophonist Dave Liebman, who steps into the role of executive producer, and decorated composer and songwriter David Shire, who contributes an original new song. The show corresponds in timing to virtual pride in New York City.
Proceeds from this event will go to the Ali Forney Center.
This event is in partnership with Jazz at Pride.
The performance will be staged as a nightclub setting. and virtual audience members are expected to dress appropriately, put their cameras on, keep at an appropriate distance and at eye level, as well as to connect the sound to a sound system or headphones.
