ABOUT ABOUT

Patricia Dell with Nancy Trowbridge on piano

My journey to the big stage in New York, as Mama Rose in Gypsy, began as a tap-dancing member of the Dell Family.  We performed for the USO, State Fairs, and other venues in my native state of Michigan.

I invite you to travel with me as I share my musical theater career on the stage, with songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, and many others from the Golden Age of Musicals.

Patricia Dell’s career has taken her throughout the United States performing in concert, recital, opera, musical theater, and cabaret.  She played Fanny Brice in One Night with Fanny Brice, a one-woman show produced by The Open Eye Theater in Upstate New York.  Her portrayal of the infamous Florence Foster Jenkins in SOUVENIR at the Kitchen Theatre Company in Ithaca, NY won her a SALT nomination for Best Actress.  FAVORITE ROLES: Mama Rose (Gypsy), Reverend Mother (Nunsense), Mother Abbess (Sound of Music) and Fraulein Schneider (Cabaret).  ELSEWHERE: Anything Goes (Riverside Theater); The Music Man, The King and I and Jerry Herman’s Milk and Honey (Forestburgh Playhouse); A Little Night Music and The Merry Widow (Media Theatre).  OPERA: Sorry, Wrong Number, Vera of Las Vegas (Center for Contemporary Opera, NYC).  RECORDINGS (CD/DVD): Sorry, Wrong Number (Albany Records), The Bald Soprano (DVD – PBS), Sing Happy! The Musical Genius of Kander and Ebb.  She is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association.  Please enjoy her website at www.patriciadell.com

Nancy Trowbridge’s story begins with piano lessons at the age of 6.  Listening to the Metropolitan Opera Company each week on the radio instilled a desire to become an opera singer.  Instead, she continued studying piano privately at Concordia College, DePauw University, and, ultimately, at Western Michigan University where she earned her BM in Music Education, majoring in piano and organ. She studied with concert organist Richard Ellaser at Interlochen Arts Academy during the summer months.  After graduating from WMU, she taught music in the public school system in addition to freelancing as an organist and choir director in the Kalamazoo area. She received her MA majoring in organ at WMU.  She was awarded a teaching grant to study at UConn in Gifted and Talented Education which allowed her to pursue her Specialist degree in Administration and Teaching of Gifted Children.  She has always had a love of musical theater.  She was music director for many productions including Oklahoma, Joseph, Godspell, 42nd Street, Crazy for You, and others at the Community College and Civic Theater.
